Clínica Privé was founded by Dr. Tony Bettencourt, who started an aesthetic centre after several years of providing injectable aesthetic treatments such as Botox ® and dermal fillers to his patients. The need for a fully fledged aesthetic centre came about as a result of the advances in aesthetic technologies, which provided alternatives to the more traditional surgical procedures that had been practised for the preceding decades. The development of the new laser, light, radiofrequency and ultrasound technologies specifically provided a cost effective means to improve the quality of the skin and also treat a wide range of skin and body conditions.

Dr. Tony Bettencourt - Dental Surgeon. Consequently, Tony provides a full range of advanced techniques such as full mouth rehabilitations, gum grafting and re-contouring, orthodontics, implants with/without bone grafting, aesthetic dentistry and TMJ therapy. In recent times, Tony has incorporated the use of PRGF (plasma rich in growth factors) into his implant dentistry. Since 2010, Tony has developed a particular interest in non-invasive facial rejuvenation treatments and is currently undertaking a specific postgraduate aesthetic medicine course at the Queen Mary University of London - directed by Prof. Simon Myers, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Barts London Medical & Dental Hospital. Besides having a keen interest in the sciences, he also enjoys working with his hands in arts such as painting. These interests and talents have carried over into his profession. |

Dra. Joana Mendes Cruz - Nutritionist. Has a Degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences, from the Institute of Health Sciences Egas Moniz (former South-ISCS). Specialization Course in Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. MSc in Exercise and Health. Assistant Teacher of Exercise and Nutrition at the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (Ismat) in Portimão. Nutritionist at Clinics Persona 2003-2010, in the field of aesthetics, weight loss, weight management and nutritional counselling. Nutritionist at Clinica Millennium (Algarve) since 2010. |
